With a twist, Apple and Qualcomm decided to put an end to the various disputes in progress and reach a settlement agreement that should allow these two giants to continue to work together.

Under the agreement, Apple will make a payment to Qualcomm for an undisclosed amount, a license agreement was found for six years (which can be extended for another two years) and the processor manufacturer will supply components to the giant of Cupertino for several years.

Probably, therefore, the next iPhone will be able to count on Qualcomm’s 5G modems and this is bad news for Huawei .

The two companies may have also wanted to avoid revealing their secrets in court: the executives of both companies were preparing to testify and it seems there were several “interesting” details to reveal.

The agreement reached between Qualcomm and Apple could represent a blow even for Intel, which planned to supply its own 5G chips to the giant of Cupertino.

It seems, therefore, that Intel has decided to set aside programs for 5G modems for smartphones and will continue to devote itself to those 4G, at least for the moment.
