HTC Wildfire X announced: A new inexpensive HTC smartphone

HTC Wildfire X: the new HTC branded smartphone was officially announced in India, currently exclusive to Flipkart.

Let’s start with a premise: Wildfire X is not an HTC smartphone as you are used to thinking of it, it is in fact a collaboration between the HTC brand and InOne Smart Technology, known in India for Lava brand smartphones, which has licensed the HTC brand.

Complete specification of HTC Wildfire X:

  • 6.22 inch IPS LCD display with HD + resolution (1520 x 720) and notch drop to accommodate the front camera, with a screen-to-body ratio of 88.8%;
  • SoC MediaTek Helio P22 (MT6762) with 12 nm production process, GP IMG PowerVR GE8320;
  • two memory variants: 3 GB of RAM combined with 32 GB of internal memory (expandable with microSD via a dual SIM hybrid slot) or 4 GB of RAM combined with 128 GB of internal memory ;
  • from battery 3300 mAh with support to the rapid charging at 10W Type-C via the USB port;
  • Android 9 Pie out of the box;
  • main camera with 3 vertically arranged sensors: a first 12 megapixel sensor with 1.25 μm pixels, an 8 megapixel sensor with 2x optical zoom and a last 5 megapixel sensor for depth information and portrait mode;
  • 8 megapixel front camera;
  • 4G VoLTE support, 802.11ac dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS + GLONASS.

The design of the HTC Wildfire X certainly does not shine for personality or innovation, with a sensor for physical fingerprints in the middle of the back and a front that can be easily exchanged for some other smartphone on the market, applause the maintenance of the hole for the 3.5mm audio jack and for the coloring with which it will be available, Sapphire Blue, with very captivating photos.

HTC Wildfire X

Variant prices: releasing in India from 22 August 2019 with prices of 9999 Rupees for the 3/32 GB version (around 125 Euros ), will go up to 12999 Rupees for the 4/128 GB version (about 163 Euros ). In India, the collaboration with Flipkart will also bring a 6-month warranty against accidental damage in addition to the standard 1-year warranty.

HTC Wildfire X, in effect a smartphone InOne – or Lava – but with the HTC brand will have to clash with other smartphones on the same band, such as Xiaomi Redmi Note 7S (which mounts a SoC Snapdragon) in a difficult market and without offering much more: what do you think of this new smartphone?
