iPhone 11 Pro Max is officially unveiled from the Steve Jobs Theater stage comes the most complete iPhone among the three models presented and also the most innovative one. Despite sharing most of its technical features with its brother iPhone 11 Pro, Apple has decided to equip it with an exclusive feature that could tip the balance in the purchase phase towards this model.
The other iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro models were also presented: the first is the “economic” smartphone of the company, but also the most colorful and that is preparing to repeat the sales success of its predecessor the iPhone XR presented exactly one year ago. The second is the “younger” brother with a smaller screen although the technical specifications are virtually identical, a top of the range in a “compact” format thanks to its 5.8 “diagonal display.
Let’s find out all there is to know about Apple’s new top of the range, analyzing design, technical specifications, price and availability.
iPhone 11 Pro: design
Little news this year regarding the aesthetic lines of the new smartphone from Apple, with a single, visible exception the camera module. The front remains unchanged, with the notch covering the sensors needed for the operation of the Face ID, in addition to the 12 Megapixel front camera with TrueDepth sensor.
The lines continue to be the same as ever with glass used to cover the front and back of the phone and a steel frame gives it the impression of a high-end product, resistant but at the same time very elegant.
iPhone 11 Pro Max: technical features
The top of Apple’s two premium smartphones, iPhone 11 Pro Max encapsulates all the features of its younger brother in a format suited to the productivity and use of multimedia content.
There is a wonderful OLED Super Retina XDR display, characterized by bright and vivid colors, with absolute blacks in stark contrast to the LCD that characterizes the cheapest of the lot, iPhone 11. It seems that this year Apple has decided not to insert the 3D Touch on the smartphone, unlike last year when only the cheapest model was lacking. This year it seems that none of the three new iPhones will implement it opting for an alternative solution already seen in action on the iPhone XR.
On board the powerful Apple A13 Bionic chipset made with a 7nm production process, which improves the performance of the previous generation while maintaining the same hexa-core setup, with 4 cores characterized by reduced power consumption and 2 high-performance cores.
Excellent presence of the Virtualizer with Dolby Atmos that really allows you to wrap the sound around the user, an innovative feature that will surely increase the pleasure in the use of multimedia content such as video and music.
The real feature of this year’s models is the triple rear camera setup, which includes a wide camera, a telephoto lens and an ultra-wide sensor in a single solution placed on the back cover in a single module. With the Night Mode you can take pictures with low light and finally have high-level results, in addition to other small but important additions to the camera app.
The Deep Fusion mode will arrive by the end of the year, and uses machine learning to correctly illuminate the scene, similar to the Google Pixel HDR + mode, taking 9 consecutive photos, selecting the best and merging the best pixels of each photo to have the best possible result.
To top it off, the front-facing camera now also allows the shooting of 4K 60FPS and Slow-motion video, with extended Dynamic Range and Cinematic Video Stabilization.
This year Apple has decided to insert a 3500 mAh battery, considered the conservative approach compared to the capacity of the batteries demonstrated in these years: the previous model, iPhone XS Max, had in fact ” only ” 3174 mAh.

One of the most welcome changes that will delight all owners of the company’s new smartphones is the inclusion of an 18W USB-C fast charger, the same one the company includes in the new iPad Pro.
The new processor
One of the features of this year is the use of a co-processor for the movement that serves to record data from the other sensors and allow advanced interactions, with an energy efficiency clearly superior to the use of the main processor.
This chip, discovered for the first time in the code of an internal build of iOS 13, works in a similar way to the M9-M12 processors that are present on board the Apple A-series SoCs, those that are equipped on the iPhone of last generation. The R1 function is similar but many more sensors will be queried at the same time to know the position and orientation of the phone accurately.
The latter adds a unit of measurement of inertia, a bit like a gyroscope and an accelerometer, some Bluetooth 5.1 features such as Angle of Arrival and Angle of Departure, Ultra-Wideband and also some additional tracking features for the camera. Surely the new processor has an important role for the new Apple Tag and augmented reality applications.
All the new features of iOS 13 on board
The new iPhone comes with iOS 13 directly pre-installed, which brings with it over 200 new features compared to the previous version, with several improvements that users have been clamoring for a long time, such as the Dark Mode for all proprietary apps and the possibility for developers to implement it quickly on third-party apps.
iPhone 11 Pro Max: all colors
Last year Apple surprised everyone by presenting a slew of colorful iPhones: apparently the company associates bright colors with cheap models, as it also happened with iPhone 5C. In the premium model instead we find the classic colors that have been present in the company for years.
This year we will be able to buy iPhone in Midnight Gray, Space Gray, Silver and Gold colors.
iPhone 11 Pro Max: price and availability
And now we get to the point that we all ask ourselves a little: how much does iPhone 11 Pro Max cost? In recent years, Apple has gradually increased the cost of its flagship smartphones, and at the same time lowered those of previous models. Last year iPhone XS Max was launched at €1189. The new iPhone 11 Pro Max will have a launch price of $1099.
iPhone 11 will be available with the following prices:
- iPhone 11 – $699
